Parachute First Aid Pouch
Two examples of parachute first aid pouches.
One is unissued but opened showing the contents and the other have been issued but is left unopened.
This item is another example of something intended for AAF use but found its way to being issued to paratroopers and beach assault troops on D-Day.
The issued pouch was found attached to an A2 QAC parachute harness as used by bomber crews. The back of the pouch shows signs of red paint which is the red paint from the harness. The airforce used different colour coding to match harness to parachute pack which allowed quick recognition in an emergency.
