Bigot Clearance Top Secret
Lt John W Landis was ordered to London in April 1944 where he was put through the “Bigot” process and was burdened with the big secret. Lt Landis was assigned to HMS Queen of Thanet which was the dispatch HQ for Operation Mulberry. Lt Landis was the liaison officer between the British and American commands. He kept just every document he was sent or produced, including the hand written drafts, typed and carbon copies of every document. After his involvement with dispatching Mulberry from the UK, he transferred to Omaha Beach and then onto Cherbourg.
Please see Lt Landis’s other pages with photo’s from his album, his M-1 helmet and a German pick up helmet.
